Cultivating curiosity and confidence

Our curriculum encourages each child to develop their skills and discover fun new experiences.

Individual programs are designed for each group utilising each teacher’s particular style, and the interests of the children.

Each program is based on:

  • A love of learning and discovery by offering a wide range of play based experiences

  • A curriculum centred on creative experiences where children’s individual interests, ideas, culture and abilities are realised and encouraged

  • Learning spaces that inspire children aesthetically and intellectually: spaces that reinforce connections with their home, family, community and the world

  • An early learning setting that is sensitive to the enormous developmental changes that occur during the early years: by acknowledging the children’s need for exploration, experimentation and discovery as their vocabulary and intellectual skills expand rapidly

  • A balance between each child striving for their independence and their need for continual reassurance

  • Outdoor and Indoor spaces that are designed to engage every child in quality experiences in both built and natural environments which provide a rich and diverse range of experiences.

  • Children are encouraged to become environmentally responsible and to show respect for the environment.

  • Promoting each child’s agency, enabling them to make choices and decisions which influence events and their world.

Our programs

3 year old program

  • 3 year old programs primarily focus on helping young children build trusting relationships with educators and develop a sense of security in their new environment. At this age, many children are experiencing their first regular separation from parents or caregivers, so a key priority is supporting them through this transition with warmth and consistency. Our focus is:

    • Educators placing strong emphasis on fostering one-on-one connections, allowing children to feel seen and safe as they begin to explore their surroundings

    • through familiar routines, gentle guidance, and emotional support, children gradually build confidence and begin to form friendships, laying the foundation for a strong sense of belonging and community within the kindergarten setting.

    • children are seen as curious and capable, beginning to develop responsibility for their own learning

    • an environment that provokes thinking, enquiry and encourages exploration

4 year old program

  • By the time children are in the 4-year-old kindergarten program, they typically show increased independence and readiness for more complex social interactions. The focus shifts toward:

    • collaborative learning, where children are encouraged to work in small groups, share ideas, negotiate roles in play, and solve problems together.

Our Community Visits

To support each program, we are committed to providing the children with a range of specialty community visits (incursions) occurring throughout the year.

The inclusion of community visits allows children to be exposed to experts in various fields, to generate excitement and interest. Experiencing something in person can motivate children much more than watching a video about the same topic.

We aim to provide specialty educational experiences that promote learning and engagement, allowing children to be involved in ‘hands-on’ experiences in many areas, which support our classroom programs.

Within our community visits, we encourage skills like critical and creative thinking, community engagement, cultural awareness, and create respect for animals and the environment. We build confidence in interacting with wildlife, and strengthen their understanding of the importance of protecting biodiversity.

Incursions may include things like: 

  • Rabbit rearing- understanding life cycle

  • Wild Action Zoo- Rockpool discovery

  • Indigenous artist program

  • Music and movement program

  • Science incursion

  • Indigenous culture or music experience

  • PMP (Perceptual Motor Program)

  • Drama workshops

  • Wildlife visit - Australian animals

  • Creative art/Drawing program

Our community visits are an additional component and are not funded within the core provision of the funded children’s programs. These visits are made possible through the Community Visit (Incursion) and Admin fee contribution from families.
